Firefly Airlines plans to offer online tour packages

The newly-launched Firefly airline aims to offer online tour packages by the end of next month, said FlyFirefly Sdn Bhd managing director Eddy Leong.

He said the company would work with hoteliers and travel agents to sell inbound and outbound packages on the global market through the airline’s website http://www.fireflyz.com.my/.
He said he would meet hoteliers and agents in Kota Baru, Kuala Terengganu and Kuantan within two weeks.

He also said discussions with hoteliers and agents in Thailand where the airline opened its routes to Phuket and Koh Samui on April 13 and 15 respectively were positive.

He encouraged the agents to market their packages through the airline’s website, saying that they could be assured seats and fixed airfares and that credit card payment by customers would be guaranteed.
“After three weeks into our operations, and from discussions, I am certain we can break even in 2007. Our Thai routes are very popular. There is a large number of expatriates in Phuket and they make short trips to other areas. Suddenly, Penang has become a part of their community,” he said.
